When you work in a jewelry store like I do, it happens every day.
People walk in the door. We greet them with a warm “Welcome to Ramsey’s” and ask if we can help.
Often they say something like “I’m just looking”.
If you’re really just in the mood to look, that’s OK. But I’ve found that when most people say “I’m just looking”, what they really mean is “I’m not sure where to start”.
Don’t feel bad if picking an engagement ring has you a bit overwhelmed. I promise you’re not the first person to feel that way.
It’s a big decision and the stakes are high when you’re looking for the perfect symbol of your love.
I want to help you take the guesswork out of shopping for a ring because getting engaged is cause for celebration, not stress!
Here’s my advice for making the process fun and enjoyable.
We believe in giving you as much time as you need. If that means you’d like to look around the store on your own, that’s fine with us!
But if you REALLY want to have some fun, ask to touch and feel the rings you’re looking at!
Pick it up. Feel the weight. Try it on. See how it looks on your finger.
Ask to see as many items as you like. We don’t mind!
After all, the hunt for the PERFECT ring is what makes shopping for an engagement ring so much fun!
If you really want to have a great experience shopping for a ring, it really helps to find a diamond consultant you like and trust.
Don’t think of it as shopping. Think of it as making a new friend - one who will help guide you through the process.
I believe the reason people love buying engagement rings from Ramsey’s is because they like the advice we give them throughout the process of selecting.
Those little nuggets of advice are often the difference between getting a nice ring she likes and getting the PERFECT ring she’ll LOVE for years to come!
There should never be any pressure to buy a ring on the first visit to a jewelry store. But sometimes people do buy the first time they come in.
It all depends on where you are in the process.
If you’ve found someone to help you and had a chance to look at rings until you find something you like, the right time to buy will come naturally.
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy the process along the way.
Take it in. Have some fun. Dream. Smile. Laugh. Love.
Trust the process. You’ll be happy you chose Ramsey’s!
